Thanks for checking out Premier Design Disc Golf, my name is Tim Barr. I am the owner and Tournament Director. I have been playing Disc Golf for over 30 years and running tournaments for the Lakefront Disc Golf Club for over 20 years. I am 53 years old and play Open Pro, Pro Masters and Pro Grand Masters. I am sponsored by Latitude 64.
I started Premier Design with three objectives in mind. First, to provide Disc Golfers in the NE Tennessee / SW Virginia area with a one-stop-shop for all their Disc Golfing needs. Second, to approach local and regional golf courses and propose Hybrid events, Disc Golf tourneys on ball golf courses. Third, to help grow the sport by designing permanent disc golf courses at any venue that might be interested.
Previous designs include – Sugar Hollow, Persimmon Ridge, Rogersville City Park, Fraley Park, Mountain Empire Community College (awaiting approval), Borden Park re-design, Kinser Park (awaiting approval), and hybrid designs at numerous local ball golf courses, as well as 3 hybrid designs in Hilton Head SC.
So far, the big news has been the overwhelming support of local disc golfers and local golf courses. In April of 2015, Premier Design hosted it’s first Hybrid event, the 411 Hybrid at Warriors Bend TPC. The event filled in three days and 93 enthusiastic disc golfers descended on the back nine at Warriors Path State Park Golf Course for 36 holes of Hybrid fun!
The former course pro, Mark Houser (retired), had nothing but good things to say about the event, stating,
“The tournament far exceeded my expectations in revenue to our golf course and the players were very appreciative of being able to play disc golf on a regulation golf course. Tim’s group came in and set up the course with tee markers, signs and temporary targets and then cleaned up after play. I would recommend Tim and the Premier Design Disc Golf group to anyone thinking about hosting a tournament”.

Since that event, with Mark’s recommendation carrying considerable weight, Premier Design has hosted hybrid events at several local and regional golf courses. Cattails at Meadowview in Kingsport, Tri-Cities Golf Course in Blountville, Graysburg Hills Golf Course in Chuckey, and Clear Creek Golf Course in Bristol, Va. have all hosted hybrid events with great success.
Building on that success, Premier Design has expanded its hybrid design work into North and South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia, designing hybrid layouts in Hilton Head and Savannah.
Each course has numerous unique characteristics and many similar attributes such as big elevation changes, lots of water hazards, and beautifully manicured fairways. Each course has a caddy book that can be downloaded for player convenience.
